Coastal Carolinas

The coast runs on different fuel: the port, the bases, and two million visitors at a time.

01

Port-driven growth

The Port of Charleston keeps setting volume records, with Boeing and a growing industrial base building around it. Port jobs are rental demand, and Charleston's has climbed for years.

02

The Grand Strand boom

Myrtle Beach keeps landing near the top of the national population growth charts, driven by retirees, remote workers, and a service economy that houses its workforce in rentals.

03

Wilmington and the film-port corridor

Wilmington ranked seventh in the nation for population growth last year and led North Carolina in job growth. UNCW, the state port, and the film industry give it a diversified base, and that growth keeps pushing renter demand into Leland and the surrounding towns.

Cities I cover here: Charleston, North Charleston, Summerville, Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Conway
