Jeff Shugarts has spent his life competing and winning at the highest levels, and he brings that same standard to every deal he touches.

At Ohio State, Jeff started over 40 games at offensive tackle and was a three-time Big Ten champion, winning both the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. He went on to play in the NFL from 2012 to 2015, spending time on the rosters of the Browns, Bills, Jets, Lions, Cowboys, and Buccaneers.

When his playing career ended, Jeff moved to the other side of the game as an offensive line coach at the University of Toledo, where he earned his master's degree and developed three offensive tackles who went on to five-plus-year NFL careers. Teaching others to perform under pressure sharpened everything he'd learned as a player.

Off the field, Jeff became a serial entrepreneur in Columbus, building, growing, and exiting small businesses, before moving to Charlotte in 2020 to help a private equity group grow its portfolio.

Today, Jeff leads the USD Multifamily Group at US Developments, specializing in multifamily investment sales for private investors across the Carolinas. He built his practice starting in 2023, one of the toughest markets in recent memory, and has closed deals ranging from four units to 150, working hand in hand with the mom-and-pop owners and private investors who are the backbone of this business. He pairs an investor's eye with a competitor's discipline, because he's sat on the principal's side of the table himself.

He still coaches, too, volunteering with one of South Carolina's top-ranked high school football programs, back-to-back state champions and a nationally ranked top-25 team. It's the throughline of everything he does: winning comes from preparation, process, and protecting your people, on the field, in the community, and at the closing table.
